Jake Paul has told fans that a boxing bout with Conor McGregor is unlikely to ever happen when being asked about his next opponent after defeating Mike Tyson.

Paul has long seen McGregor as his dream opponent in the boxing ring with the two going back and forth on multiple occasions, with the YouTuber-turned-boxer recently suggesting that the Irishman is ‘begging’ to fight him.

However, Paul is now stating that McGregor would not take a fight for him for multiple reasons – including his contract with the UFC and Dana White while suggesting that the Irishman knows he’d lose.

Since Paul had first begun in boxing, he had continued to name the UFC superstar as his dream opponent while calling him out on multiple occasions.

However, Paul has recently stopped mentioning McGregor as a potential opponent due to his contractual obiligations with the UFC. But that didn’t stop him insinuating that he’d easily defeat the MMA legend if they ever stepped into the ring.

When asked if he’d still like to face McGregor, Paul responded: “Yeah, he’ll never do that though. He knows. He’s not his own boss. It’s easy to say Conor McGregor doesn’t want to fight Jake Paul, but it’s the f—— truth. Look at him go toe to toe with Nate Diaz who was easy work for me. It was like a Monday sparring session.”

McGregor had spoken about Paul’s bout with Tyson earlier this summer on a live stream, in which he said: “I hope Mike rattles the little dope, no one gives a f— about him. How is that even in the f——Dallas stadium?”

The Irishman has not ruled out a return to boxing after his MMA career is up, but a fight with Paul does not feel likely at this time – with the boxer choosing not to name anyone as his next preferred opponent at this time.

While securing a win over Tyson, his performance has been criticized due to the 31-year age descripency between the two with many questioning Paul’s intent in the fight. The 27-year-old was boo’d for his lack of offense in the final few rounds, while his own corner could be heard critical of his performance and told him to go for the knockout.

After the fight though, Paul confirmed that he held back from looking for the KO, stating: “I didn’t wanna hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.”
