Jake Paul has boldly stated that Mike Tyson isn’t the hardest puncher he’s faced, instead giving that title to Tommy Fury. On his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul, the 27-year-old reflected on his victory over Tyson by unanimous decision.
In his first professional fight since 2005, former world champion only managed to land 18 punches in eight two-minute rounds without any landing cleanly. It was a largely disappointing fight as Paul emerged victorious, eventually celebrating his success thanks to the judges’ scorecards.
Paul remarked: “I would say Tommy Fury [hit hardest] because it’s the shots you don’t see. Tommy was more tricky with that, but Mike’s punches I could see coming. He was strong, but he didn’t land anything clean. So I honestly didn’t feel Mike Tyson’s full power, but that’s good. You don’t want to.

“I was just moving, staying elusive and the only thing he was kind of landing was that hook but I just kept my hand up.”
Additionally, during the podcast, Paul issued an apology to his fans for not delivering on his promise to stop Tyson in the fight.
“I’m sorry I didn’t knock him out,” he admitted. “After I’d seen him tired I didn’t want to put too much hurt on him, but I wanted the fans to get a good experience. But there was a point where my aggression and violence went away when I wasn’t getting hit. I love Mike.”
The fighter also shared his ambitious goal to clinch a boxing title soon. “I think it could happen in the next 24 months,” he confidently stated. “I truly, truly believe in my skills and my ability and my power. And the cruiserweight division is seemingly open for the taking on that timeline.”
With an impressive 11-1 professional record, Paul’s bout with Tyson reportedly drew a staggering 60 million households, according to Netflix, despite technical issues that left fans frustrated when the stream crashed mid-event.
