It’s been almost a month since the fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.
They met on a card held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in November, which was the first live boxing event to be streamed on Netflix.
It was a huge commercial success, generating over $18 million at the box office while attracting over 60 million simultaneous streams.
While it may have been a huge financial success, the action inside the ring was less impressive as Tyson, 58, struggled to compete in what was his first professional boxing match in nearly 20 years.
Paul was able to claim victory via unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds, and “Iron Mike” now appears to have once again ended his career for good.
With the dust almost completely settled after their encounter, Tyson’s son Amir has now revealed to ESNews how his father has been handling the defeat in the weeks following the showdown with Paul.
“He’s been in his zone, holding his own. He’s very good. He’s not handling it badly. He knocked out Netflix and it was all thanks to him. It was a historic night. Everyone involved got paid and it was a good night.”
While Tyson’s legendary in-ring career may be over, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul is still going strong as he looks to have a 2025 as big as last year.
One fight he frequently spoke of as one of his goals was a showdown with pound-for-pound megastar Canelo Alvarez, but it appears that is no longer on Paul’s wish list after he made a huge about-face regarding the fight.
